As I embark on this journey in the 'real world'.... I have decided to give gorgeous-geek.com a new home. While this blog will still exist under the blogger URL.... the domain I own is moving. I am in the process of transferring the domain name to godaddy.com where I feel I can manage my site the way I want to.

As I start to live life as a 'real' adult and not a student. I will leave this blog behind, I feel this blog all 3 years of it has documented my college years, which were awesome nonetheless. Time to start something new, with all this free time i have now since i dont have homework or papers to write lol Working 8 hrs a day/ 5 days a week, lives me with a lot of time that I am not use too.

I would like really like to say God is good. I have a job you guys. My job title is a Human Leukocyte Antigen Technologist. I start at the end of this month =] Right now I am looking for apartments in a city closer to the city where my job is lol

The job is in a small town and I am not much of a small town gal sooooo.... i'm staying in the Triangle and will commute to the Triad.

I thanked God everyday for that interview and now I am thanking God for getting the job and asking that he is with me through out the training process. An with the type of work I am doing, I ask God to be with the owners of the blood samples that I will analyzed. I cannot imagine what they are going through to need such analysis done.

Lastly, God, please be with my friends that are still searching for a job while they are going on their interviews an such. I feel totally blessed to get the 1st job that I interviewed for, fresh out of college. THANK YOU LORD!

Regardless of if I get the job or not. I would really really really like to thank God for giving me these opportunities to at least interview with a few companies.

I was really down on Monday since it was the beginning of my last week at my current job. I had applied for many jobs and had not received one call to interview. However...tuesday I awoke to a voicemail from a lady who had seen my resume and she wanted to meet with me to discuss what I was looking for in a job. Wednesday I received an email from a different lady asking if i could call to discuss a position with her. The phone pre- screening went well and I have to travel to meet with that company next week.

I am utterly thankful for these opportunities. I believe no one but God played a roll in setting up these interviews for me during my 1st week of unemployment... what a wonderful coincidence aka a blessing.

I am not very religious at all, but I was raised in the church and I can recognize divine intervention when it happens lol

You guys, I was "sick" last week. Quotations because to me "sick" implies "flu like" symptoms... well I had none of those... maybe a feeling of malaise but that's it

My extremities, pelvic region and torso all mysteriously went numb. 1st thing that popped into my mind was "maybe I should have taking the supplements like the doctor prescribed." Nonetheless, to rule out any new symptoms arising, I went to the doctor to get checked out. Two doctors visits later and $309 worth of blood work later... I know what I knew to begin with. My iron levels are on the verge of being nonexistent AND my vitamin D level are right behind. I took a week hiatus from the gym and everything... which i hated since ive got in to the groove of getting at least 45 min of cardio daily.... I worked out today but I am laying off the weights until further notice bc I don't wanna accidentally fuck up something an I go numb again.

I still have a boyfriend and job lmao I don't keep those around usually, since I need change consistently. I need the job bc I have a Sephora fetish now. And the boyfriend because... because.... he's SUPER nice to me and I don't know why... I'm mean, rude, and crazy (at times)...but he likes me in spite of it all so KUDOS to him lol

I graduated a month ago =[ with my Microbio degree and I am currently taking Quantitative Chemical Analysis to finish my Biochemistry degree... I deserve to pat my damn self on the back for finishing 2 (not at all simple) degrees in 4 years. I'm studying for the GRE... got some prospective Master's programs in mind =]

Summer Movies 2010

How exciting is the summer movie season. I love going to see a movie every friday. People sometime dislike the crowds that gather to see a new release but I love it! Their are a few movies that increase my heart beat at the thought of their release.

Iron Man 2: I must admit, I like the second installment much more than the 1st. Minus the fact that Terrance Howard is MIA, but nonetheless, it was pretty cool. As i've probably blogged before... I am a Marvel Geek in addition to being a gorgeous one lol. Marveluniverse.com is bookmarked, desktop background has EVERY known marvel character to exist. *sigh* My heart rate has increased...

Okay, this does not tickle my fancy BUT and offspring of Will Smith will get my undivided attention.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?! This almost brings tears to my eyes. I probably will organize a Toy Story 1 & 2 watch party. Toy Story 3 is my anti-aging treatment. After graduating this spring, I feel like i'm growing up to darn fast.

I graduated lol

That means I have plenty of time to blog.... while I don't have a "real" job.

I have a workout plan that I need to follow for the next 5 weeks before my student gym membership expires.

Talk about waiting last minute to use what I already paid for via Student Fees.

Nonetheless... the workout plan includes 30 minutes of cardio 5 day's / week plus every other day strength training...which varies from weights to pilates

WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF ENACTMENT

*Insurance companies will be barred from dropping people from coverage
when they get sick. Lifetime coverage limits will be eliminated and
annual limits are to be restricted.

*Insurers will be barred from excluding children for coverage because
of pre-existing conditions.

*Young adults will be able to stay on their parents' health plans
until the age of 26. Many health plans currently drop dependents from
coverage when they turn 19 or finish college.

*Uninsured adults with a pre-existing conditions will be able to
obtain health coverage through a new program that will expire once new
insurance exchanges begin operating in 2014.

*A temporary reinsurance program is created to help companies maintain
health coverage for early retirees between the ages of 55 and 64. This
also expires in 2014.

*Medicare drug beneficiaries who fall into the "doughnut hole"
coverage gap will get a $250 rebate. The bill eventually closes that
gap which currently begins after $2,700 is spent on drugs. Coverage
starts again after $6,154 is spent.

*A tax credit becomes available for some small businesses to help
provide coverage for workers.

*A 10 percent tax on indoor tanning services that use ultraviolet
lamps goes into effect on July 1.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2011

*Medicare provides 10 percent bonus payments to primary care
physicians and general surgeons.

*Medicare beneficiaries will be able to get a free annual wellness
visit and personalized prevention plan service. New health plans will
be required to cover preventive services with little or no cost to
patients.

*A new program under the Medicaid plan for the poor goes into effect
in October that allows states to offer home and community based care
for the disabled that might otherwise require institutional care.

*Payments to insurers offering Medicare Advantage services are frozen
at 2010 levels. These payments are to be gradually reduced to bring
them more in line with traditional Medicare.

*Employers are required to disclose the value of health benefits on
employees' W-2 tax forms.

*An annual fee is imposed on pharmaceutical companies according to
market share. The fee does not apply to companies with sales of $5
million or less.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2012

*Physician payment reforms are implemented in Medicare to enhance
primary care services and encourage doctors to form "accountable care
organizations" to improve quality and efficiency of care.

*An incentive program is established in Medicare for acute care
hospitals to improve quality outcomes.

*The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which oversees the
government programs, begin tracking hospital readmission rates and
puts in place financial incentives to reduce preventable readmissions.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2013

*A national pilot program is established for Medicare on payment
bundling to encourage doctors, hospitals and other care providers to
better coordinate patient care.

*The threshold for claiming medical expenses on itemized tax returns
is raised to 10 percent from 7.5 percent of income. The threshold
remains at 7.5 percent for the elderly through 2016.

*The Medicare payroll tax is raised to 2.35 percent from 1.45 percent
for individuals earning more than $200,000 and married couples with
incomes over $250,000. The tax is imposed on some investment income
for that income group.

*A 2.9 percent excise tax in imposed on the sale of medical devices.
Anything generally purchased at the retail level by the public is
excluded from the tax.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 2014

*State health insurance exchanges for small businesses and individuals
open.

*Most people will be required to obtain health insurance coverage or
pay a fine if they don't. Healthcare tax credits become available to
help people with incomes up to 400 percent of poverty purchase
coverage on the exchange.

*Health plans no longer can exclude people from coverage due to pre-

*Employers with 50 or more workers who do not offer coverage face a

WELL... this was my last spring break of my undergraduate career. Scary.

I had fun, even though I have an injury to remind me of it lol

I went Snowboarding down a real mountain. I fell a billion times but that was bc I could not figure out how to stop so to stop i fell backwards. AWESOME lol

I fell forward once and that was my cause of my injury. My board got stuck in the snow and my torso was facing a completely different direction than my legs. Therefore i twisted the crap outta my knee. It didnt feel to bad at first but the pain peaked a few hours later and I was wondering wtf i did to cause such discomfort lol

BUT ANYWHO!

I have maybe a month an a half til graduation. May 15th 2010, I will receive my Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. And the following month I'll have my BS in Biochemistry also =]

I think i'm going to miss the college life...

I cut the rest of my relaxed ends off as said. i blow dried an flat iron to do a length check and its about neck length.....

It will grow back... i keep telling myself this bc I kinda dislike having short hair sooooo.... the weave returns. Dionna did the damn thing i tell ya!... I wont go into the logistics of my hair, but its freaking cool. I took some pics of my afropuffs haha back to 5 year old me, but my puffs were super huge then. But @ a random event on Friday evening on campus, I picked up a free slice. And to my surprise... that joint it glorious lol Therefore I ended up ordering me an the boo some pizza that night. The medium-one topping pizza for $5.99 is awesome. The sauce is no longer sweet tasting AND the crust is the business. Due to the uprising of Twitter, I dont blog half as much as I use to. Mainly bc, from the convenience of my phone I can say what I am thinking, right at that very moment. I started this blog, as I have said before, to feel a void.

Since 2008, I have tremendously grown and matured and no longer feel the need to rant on the things that troubled me in the pass.

February 6th 2010 marked the anniversary of my last relaxer =]

I thought I would never see this day lol I havent seen my hair since December 21st, I think its time to release the twist and do a serious deep condition.

I'm not ready to wear my hair out, at least I dont think. VDay is next weekend so I dont want to take the twist out until after that OR if I can get my hair done this week it would be awesome.

But anywho, the journey of transitioning to my natural hair has been tough and fascinating. I've had 2 sets of Senegalese twist and 2 sew-ins. In the beginning, I tried to flat iron my new growth to blend in, and soon I realized that my efforts were futile lol

My hair is entirely thick, and I dont have the time, patience nor skill to tackle such task.

I'm considering another sew-in. just to avoid having to think about my hair so I can continue to focus on my last semester of undergrad!!!! WHOOOOO! lol

My boo asked "why dont you wear your hair out?" I answered, "do you not remember moisturizing my scalp for me and how daunting a task that was" lol The clown had all my hair sticking straight up...like a giant Alphalpha peak lol

I'll post pics of my hair once I take out the twist.

Inclement Weather...

Ok. For the up north ppl... dont talk shit lol 3-5 inches of snow is an effin' blizzard in these parts. I had to to get out an trek through this mess bc no one on campus wanted to cover my shift. That's so rude, co-workers literally live above the 24 hour desk were I work and they didnt want to cover for me. So i had to get out of bed, deSnow and deIce and deFrost my car. Then attempt to drive my little blue scion on roads no one has touched yet!

I got stuck twice. My breaks effin' sound like the are grinding rocks, the ABS on them is gone or something. I have to break 100 feet back from the target place to stop. Apparently I learned I cant sit still @ a stop light for a whole minute bc I'll get stuck. Hence, I drove backwards until I could successfully proceed in the forward motion.

If i get a job offer that requires me to move to Philly or NY or effin' Ohio and they say they will pay me $100,000/ yr. I will tell them FUCK YOU lol haha just kidding... i'll go by a 4WD Ford F-150 or something

Hair Update....

I havent did one of these in 6 months, so here goes it.

After the sew-in 6 months ago, I got another one.

Thanksgiving I took that one out and wore a hat or a braid out. At this point I was 8 months post-relaxer.

I got frustrated with my relaxed end so I had most of them cut off in the back, and towards the front like an inch or 2 relaxed hair is still left. Short hair irks the shit outta me.

In the front, my natural hair is super soft. I can just blow dry it an it will look flat ironed. In the back, not so much. I have a combination of little coils or something. It may be because all the relaxed ends are off back there and it will all look uniform once I chop more off.

Anywho, the week of christmas, I returned to the Senegalese twist (how I started my transition)... and thats the point I am @ right now. Its been a month and I have about 1/2 inch of new growth....sounds about right =]

Next move is:

Chopping more hair off (maybe all the relaxed hair)

Maybe hit up my Dominican spot and let them blow it out to do a length check

get a completely full sew in, with invisible part (refuse to flat iron my hair anymore)

remove the sew-in and hopefully i'll be decided on locs or sisterlocks by then =/

February 6th marks my last relaxer...YAY ME =]

I despised American Idol after Fantasia won, and this season I decided to watch again. And once again I am disappointed, an I am not watching next season. I don't think it was rigged or anything... American's very well could have voted for Chris but I honestly think that some voted for Chris just b/c they didn't want Adam to win due to the pics that surfaced of him that suggest he may be Gay. Who the fuck cares?

I have a blackberry with AT&T. At the moment, my an my mother are one the same plan BUT she is getting annoyed with the, what she calls, 'extra' stuff i have on my phone. The Blackberry data plan is $30 dollars per month plus the regular plan. She expressed he dismay in paying this. So Ii was thinking that we separate =[ and I take on my own cell phone bill. I don't know how that will work, I don't work that much, but I guess I can pick up more hours second summer sessions or something. I need the minimum minutes (450) which is $39.99/ mo. soooo I'm looking @ $70ish a month...ugh

Soooo I have been MIA for a week. Well I haven't posted anything in a week. I was still reading you all's post and stuff.
Last Saturday, I started the task of packing and moving, that was sooooo much work. My mother drove up to help, but nonetheless, I am moved in to my new place and loving it. I always wonder why ppl stay in the surburbs away from everything? It's kinda nice not having traffic since I grew up 'in' the city in Charlotte,NC... shout out to the 704! lol Only thing that bothers me about where I stay now is the country like 2 lane roads w/o street lights... But you got to love the college community

I'm currently @ home in Charlotte now. Charlotte is so prettiful, the downtown area an stuff. It's a nice small big city =] The city skyline keeps increasing in length everytime I come home. I need to find a pic... K found one that actually has the 'under construction' buildings photoshopped in...

The one with the triangle is being built, I believe it was suppose to be wachovia BUT now its Duke Energy lol

Summer 2009 MOVIES! WORD

So On July 17th or 18th... Summer movie season 2008 officially ended with The Dark Knight... It began with Ironman in May. I did a blog on May 27, 2008 about the movies that I would like to see for the summer and July 20th, 2008 I ended it officially and mentions some movies for 2010) soooo let's do it again....

Summer movie season jumped off with Wolverine (which I saw again in the theaters lol). My chick friends were like 'it was ok', my heart just about stopped lol and one even said she fell asleep kinda. WTF were we watching the same screen here?

Anywho here is my rundown. (I cant wait to do my honorable mentions for summer 2010...in July =/)

Star Trek (May 8th)- Ummmm I like watching Star Trek: Next Generation with Professor X... i mean Captain Picard lol so I guess i'll see this movie

Angels and Demons (May 15th)- Soooo Da Vinci Code (the movie) sucked... but the book rocked. Angels and Demons looks more promising as a movie... I was going to say less controversial BUT they are killing Cardinals in Vatican City soooooo nvm =]

Terminator: Salvation (May 22nd)- Ummmm the trailer looks cool and its been playing since last year soooo i think its kinda a big deal. As soon as Dark Knight came out ooooo Christen Bale has another move coming out NEXT summer....

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June 24th)- Oh the trailer looks like the movie should be called Decepticons Beat that Ass lol I think the Autobots will loose so there will be a third movie lol I must post the trailer that they showed during the previews to Wolverine. X-Men Origins: Wolverine =] Critics R on some BS (no spoilers)

OKKKKK so if you don't know by now, I am into comics an cartoons an stuff and X-men is like my baby. Like I here some ppl older than me talk about Transformers when they were younger... X-men Animated Series is all me... like Saturday morning '94 ish lol.

Anywho...I've began to read Wolverine Origins like last fall just to make sure I'm up on my game. I have to say that this move was an excellent biography of Logan. Hugh Jackman is like ripped lol not as big as comic book Wolverine but good enough. My fav X-men is not Wolverine actually... it's Gambit, who made his debut.

My beef with the X-men trilogy was the absence of Gambit. But HONESTLY greatest villain in X-men history is... Apocolypes. After all he's like the 1st ever mutant lol That would be a crazy stupid movie... if done right.

OKAY...Where to start... I thinking I'm about to put myself out there a little more than I usually do. At least to my close friends.. please don't mention it to me unless I ask for your opinion or something. I feel that this is out of character for moi.

So question is... can you be around someone pretty consistently an not develop feelings for that person? I think it's inevitable. I think I spent a lot of time in my life trying not to catch feelings for people. Yeah it's cool when ish is mutual but I can't seem to be on the same page with anyone...Or maybe I am on the same page but I see the story heading in a different direction.

So this go-round. I am openly admitting that I like someone... like I am so not fronting... Usually I would have been chucked the deuces before ever getting to this point. Just kiddin'... I don't chuck deuces... i just disappear w/o warning.

But I feel like I am kidding myself in another department. OK yeah I like someone... but I think I am completely lying to myself when I say that I am content with whatever it is... that's not what I meant... 'I wish it was more' but I am telling myself I don't...that's not really it either...DAMNIT

Analogy time... the situation feels like I am enrolled in a 4 credit hour class with a lab, that I have to make a C in to pass... but it doesn't count towards my degree. I like the class... but it doesn't count for anything, so whats the point. Like taking a class on Dinosaurs... oh how I would love to take a class on Dinosaurs lol

That's a perfect analogy. I like dude...and I don't mind chillin' and hanging out an ish, and doing stuff BUT....why? lol i feel like i should credit-only this class... which translates in to... doing all the things above.. without the feelings.

I don't want to drop the class completely... but... i was advised that I should. To avoid getting hurt. Other words drop off the face of the earth... but that's kinda hard when feelings are there =/

My grades this semester are going to suck. Not fail suck but like B-...B... suck =[ NOW I'm going to blame it on the fact that I have been in classes non stop since jan. 2008 b/c I took Physics II and Biochemistry during summer session 1 and 2 respectively. It's possible to get burnt out on school work isn't it?
I just need a break. Sad thing is I am taking Advanced Human Anatomy and Physical Chem both summer sessions AGAIN ugh.... I need help. I should just chill, but I feel that I am wasting precious time by not taking a class or 2.

I'm moving off campus next week =] Maybe the change of scenery with help out. My friends are like WHY ARE YOU LEAVING STEPH!?! and i'm like... THESE CAMPUS APT COST TOO MUCH TO BE SO LITTLE.

During the summer is $612 per summer session so that's $1224 for the summer. My rent is $535/mo and that's June... July sooooo that's $1070. That's $124 that I'm saving which can by a book lol

Another reason why I'm trying to get the hell off campus is... I'm turning 21 =] To get the full effect of being all the way legal... I want my own place... where I can have my many bottles of vodka, Jose, and Jack out in the open...paint a wall... and most importantly... decorate my bathroom lol I have a vision... def hitting up Bed Bath & Beyond next week =]

Sooo yeah my new growth is the ish and I am quite motivated to see this transitioning thing thru. even if I revert back to a relaxer later, its nice to know what my natural hair is like since it has been MIA since I was 10 lol

So I did my hair yesterday after removing the twist. I washed it, deep conditioned, blow dried, flat iron. I won't do that to often, too much work. But yuppers... imma post a pick of the back shot of it. I wear my part on my right side sooooo right there I blew out my roots so it looks straight but run your fingers thru the back part if ya dare lol.

Guys really don't get it =[ All they see is me cutting my hair (again) and they don't like... sheesh dudes... i'm really going to have to say fuck you! on this one =/

So i have maybe an inch of new growth stretched.... about 12 weeks post-relaxer.

I'm excited because i'm noticing my texture an mess....well like the different textures lol

What I am seeing is like 3C ish in the front and something as u move back lol

I'm quite sure it maybe 4a since the last time I went without a relaxer my roots began to coil and i was like o shit how to I detangle this mess. I tried to get a pic but my camera phone doesnt have High Definition capabilities lol

It's really tempting for me to just cut the relaxed off right now lol I'm too anxious... I must make it to Aug.

I'm taking out the twist today after my exam and i'm going to hit up a braid-out/ bantu knot do.

i was taking to my boy about my hair and he was like yeah... u have nice long hair why dont you just wear it out? I just want to shake him and beat into his brain that that isnt the point right now, an to stop reminding me of my length. I'll be sure to get a pic of the braid out... I like big hair =]

Well before I explain what I've notice. When someone ask to describe someone, how do you proceed? I usually start of with height, size, maybe hair style if its significant, maybe their choice of clothes to wear, a nice purse, or nice shades lol... then I completely have nothing else to say.

I notice that a few of my friends have a complexion thing... like ask them the same question and the 1st thing they start off with is... he's your complexion or she's light skinned. Like I don't see it... I'm not choosing to omit their complexion in the line up of traits, it's just something I don't pick up on.

OK, so I was trying to describe a guy to my friend, and I would much rather have them go to facebook an do a search b/c i suck at descriptions of people. So I said... he's an [fraternity he's in] and then she asked about his complexion...i was like yeah he's kinda bright lol And that all the description she needed. I felt like I didnt say much at all. But yet that said everything to her...WTF

Then on another occasion, it was a different friend of mine, another friend an moi.. just chillin'. An out the blue, one of my friends said 'you two are the same complexion' at that moment I was like 'WTF that was random, who notices that'

THEN a guy friend of mine, was talking about like how light skinned dudes arent in, and his yellow complexion.... Problem with this statement is, he's not yellow haha Like do you want to be yellow? When you look in the mirror do you see your self lighter than what you really are. Maybe he's one of the lightest toned people in his family and they always mentioned it... cuz dude is like a half a shade lighter than me.

Lastly, I was sitting with a friend and previously we concluded that a guy was the same complexion as me... like way previously. We all (me, friend, dude) went out one day and after the dude left, she was like he's lighter than you. I'm like...seriously... who cares?

So maybe i't not a big deal but I find it weird! I think they subconsciously have an issue with their complexion, why else would you notice it so much? The only thing that I can think of that I notice on people are like tattoo's and piercings...because I have a thing for them... or an addiction lol

It doesnt bother me, when they mention those things... I just worried about why they address it so much...

Sooo it's been 10 years since the Columbine incident. I was 10 years old at the time and the whole thing freaked me out, I was scared of the thought of going to high school for a while. I remember my grandparent talking about how the world was at that time. And talking about being able to raise childen in a world that is so... mean.

WELLLL... I think that the word has gotten so much worse. At 10 years old... i couldnt imagine 9/11... I couldn't imagine a war, I couldnt imagine that the people that were in my 5th grade classroom with me... watching the news coverage on Columbine would be effin' murdered few years later.

The world is a cruel place. I dont think I want the task of trying to raise children in it.

If everyone had my views on life... i think we could have a utopia. To me... nothing is that serious. I mean things are serious... but not THAT serious ya feel me?

Soooo....

I am anxious to see what is in store for me in life. I have no idea what I want to do, but I know that what I will end up doing is already laid out for me. I would like to get a glimps in the future, will i have a $100,000 paying job (b/c thats my goal), where will I be living in likee 2 yrs, will I have kids, will i be married, what will my husband be like, have I met him, will my friends still be around, will the last year in college be a good one, will I end up joining a sorority after all, will i still watch cartoons =]

Its crazy how people don't associate me with having kids and/or being married...

How did that happen lol? I use to plan my wedding when I was little, along with honeymoons, and the kids names were already picked out. I think I got a taste of how 'not perfect' the world is... and it frightened me...

Too love someone that much that you would like to spend the rest of your life with them is a concept that I cant seem to graps. I mean I can see how that happens, the love part, but, I think I am afraid of wanting/needing someone to be there and having that... but then the next day... they arent. MOOD KILLER. That is what freaks me out, that's why I don't want to become attached and/or use to anything, or anybody... just b/c I know that essentially they are just a varible in my life equation that can be multiplied by 0 and be out lol OR like divided by 0 and become undefined . Tehe i have a couple of those... it's like your were helping the system but now you are just causing an error message lol... lmao

I attribute my hang up about titles to this... having a boyfriend/girlfriend title just makes ish unneccessarily personal... lol maybe not unneccessarily.... but it makes shit like... like... placing that title on someone is like handing them a New Employee's handbook. Like it comes with a dress code and procedure for requesting time off =/, or stating that you can't go work for the competition

Those things along with others... should be done willingly... right?

Which brings me to another thing about titles... EXCLUSIVITY lol Isn't that like..your more than friends, but you're not committed, yet you are choosing not to 'seeing' other people.... A wise friend of mine lol stated via facebook status, that people don't want titles (how to word this) because they aren't willing to be exclusive.... or they are willing but they don't want to be held accountable for their actions if they chose to 'see' other people. I don't want to say 'accountable'... they don't want to other person to have the right to be upset.

I think I decided to let go of the relaxers... for a while... atleast. B/c I am so no consistent with hair care that my hair will end up damaged any who.

I plan on rocking twist until my birthday in Aug. Trying to keep the current twist in for 2 months.... but after a month (apr. 7)... ugh the new growth is something serious already... lol i'll post a pic.

The only person that can tell me about my size is myself and mother dear. Because mother dear will tell me, with the quickness, that my rear has increased in circumference tehe and I need to work on that. But I am beginning to fit in with the rest of the fam WHOOO!!!

I am quite stumped on the next move. I know it is most likely grad school, but where too?
I am from CHARLOTTE, NC ya know and I miss it dearly, but I do not want to go back yet, I was to live somewhere else, @ least for my grad school tenure.

I was checking out Virginia Commonwealth Uni... I was iffy on the school even being a possibility until they were selected for the NCAA Tourny lol

I need to go where the action is, as far as college bball. I think I failed in my selection for undergrad, but @ least its an ACC school (which Pres. Obama said was apparently overrated lmao). BC, Florida St., Wake, Maryland...all screwed me over in my brackets WTF mate? Clemson didn't. I didnt have them winning what that won... My B!

BACK TO VCU.... it's in Richmond.... ummmm I've been there once with my mother on a business trip. I need to visit again to get a good feel. Opinions on Richmond, VA?

As much as I didnt want to go to an HBCU for undergrad... it actually might be a possibility for Grad... Hampton maybe?

MUSC is def a choice b/c I am the biggest fan of Charleston, SC... i effin' love it. I think I can be a part time tour guide. MUSC is like in the city, which I like. Forget being on a college campus, just put me in the middle of things.

UGA, UMD, UF are all choices...I have a lot of thinking to consider.

So yesterday I took my horosccopes advice and got to 'know' other people (another guy) lol I've been chillin' with one dude for a while and since we are not like an official couple, I shall not limit my opportunities.

Ummm if I wasn't thinking about how much closer I have gotten to a certain person in the past week and a half or so, Zeus strike me now lol
I mean, we've been just straight chillin'... watching Conference Tournements and ish. UConn/Syracuse was a LONG night lol He has looked out for me tremendously since I had my battle with my tonsil, and I am grateful. Because you know how people disappear from you when you are sick lol.
I am not a naturally nice/giving person, like I seriously could give a bleep about someone else's life, until I have a reason to care. I feel like I have a reason to care now, like this person is considered a friend now. I did him a favor by helping him out the night before he was leaving to go on a trip. specifically he needed my car, and Lord knows how I am about my car and other people driving it.
My ex drove it, my friend was my DD so she drove it, and my ace boon drove b/c I was too lazy to drive to McD's lol.
But yah, that calls for a degree of trust from me ya know. He dropped his boy off at the airport at crack ass morning while i was sleep, then I dropped him off a little later in the morn. Then he left me with the keys to his apt. so I can watch my 'Wolvering and the Xmen' and Avatar on Nicktoons via Direct TV =] Like I love that I am trusted as someone he can leave his keys with and have in his place while he's on a cruise. For that reason I feel that we have def gotten closer as friends.
I'm not going to lie, I do miss him, b/c now I'm bored =[

Sooooooo... today I had a cast of my boobs made so that I can always remember how well my boobs defy gravity at the sweet age of 20 =] (that might be my status on facebook what what? lol)

My mother thinks it weird but HEY i thought it was a cool idea and an awesome experience. Here on campus it is Women's Week, and to kick it off they did boob casting.

I got there and I checked in.... and proceeded to the waiting area. A documentary about boobs was playing. Just different ppl discussing things about boobs, topless in front of a blk background.

Anyways, I was called back to the other room where the casting would be done. I walking in an it was like random boobs everywhere, like out in the open and ppl plastering them hahaha.

I was instructed to get topless and but vaseline on so the plaster wouldnt stick to me. One thing about me... I am def not shy when it comes to my boobs ya know. I like them and want ppl to see them lol when the time calls for it. I got nude up top and all shinny then I went on to begin the plastering. The chick that did my mold was a student also, so we just had a normal convo while she was sticking stuff on me. Then someone wanted to observe the process so they stood there watching me too.

It was funny, the girl plastering me said..."you seem all shy and timid but then you see tattoo's and piercings when the top comes off." =]

Of course that's me, the next person I meet would probably never guess I have 4 tattoos and multiple piercings that include my nipples.

Notice how half of the airway is block by a over grown mass =[ The uvula is even getting stuck to the enlarged tonsil. MANNNN this is wack i tell ya! I went through a bottle of ibuprofen in a little of 24 hours. I just emailed my doctor asking how much naproxen I could take or if I could take 2 Vicodin pills instead of one. This effin' antibiotic better start making some progress ASAP.

DIY Tonsilectomy

LOL that how I feel ya'll. I want to take out my own freaking right tonsil b/c it is so making me miserble. I went to the doctor again and it is not quite evident what my problem is, which is sooooo frustrating. My nose is running a little bit now which makes me believe it may be a virus which so sucks ass.

Here is my damn regimine for managing the pain:

5am- 800mg (4 pills) ibuprofen
7am- some numbing agent, numbs everything it touches in my mouth
8:30am- Vicodin (if needed, or when ibuprofen wears off b4 6hr time frame)
11am- 800 mg ibuprofen (try to wait as long as I can be for popping pills)
1pm- numbing shit
4pm-vicodin
6pm- antibiotic
6:30- 800mg ibuprofen
8p- numbing shit
10pm,- night night via vicodin

I believe the linning of my stomach is going to need serious therapy b/c I have been taking alot of ibuprofen for 2 weeks now. I just up'd the dosage from 600mg-800mg yesterday b/c 600mg wasnt really cutting it... i mean it would do but not really.

So its 5 13 am and I am sittin at work. I had to run to Harris Teeter at 4 30 b/c I woke up at 4am in pain!
Last week it was confirmed that I had a minor case of strep that would clear on its own, which it did.... so I thought....
NOW my right tonsil is swollen and when I swallow my ear hurts like hell. I'm not displaying the typical characteristics of strep since its unilateral. Possibly ear infection though, that rooted from the strep strain that wasn't treated with antibiotics. ( I love coming up with differential diagnosis's lol)
I went to Harris Teeter to get more ibuprofen so I can continue to pop pills. The Vicodin sooooo did nothing for me... upsetting. I think I will go in to the walk in clinic this morn, maybe I can get a stronger pain killer b/c ur not suppose to exceed 1200mg of ibuprofen in 24 hours, but at the rate I'm going to kill the pain I need twice as much 2400mg in 24 hours. They just need to give me straight morphine... I lie to you not that the Vicodin didnt effect me, I went to workout and everything tehe =]

Yes Hydrocodone.... you are def not cooperating with my opiate receptors lol

Sooooo... I actually thought the movie was awesome. Anything that deals with human nature is mad cool. Human;s are savage animals, when it boils down to the nitty gritty, who will hesitate to kill the next man? What the nitty gritty is, I'm not sure...
The film kinda had one of those "the night is darkest just before the dawn" moments (i.e The Dark Knight)... why is that like an awesome quote to me? lol
Nonetheless, I think I have a bias veiw on the film, since I made it my mission last week to finish the graphic novel before seeing it. Thank Bob it took 9hrs to twist my hair up b/c otherwise I could not sit an read that long.
The book has so much more background info going on. There was excepts from another novel in the book, another comic series in the book, varies papers on various topics.
The movie did a good job of capturing everyones bio's. In the book it took a long time to cover everyone's history. I was continuously having Ah ha! moments, guess that means Alan Moore is a good writer...
The movie was good, but I prefer the book (comic).
I like reading graphic novels, with all the prettiful illustrations, it was like watching the movie pretty much, script was sooo almost word for word =]

Ladies and Gentlemen... I Am Sick

Sooooo Sunday night... i woke up frm a nap and noticed I had a headache. I didnt think anything of it, I just thought it was a headache from sleeping too long so I popped some ibuprofen. Well I went to sleep again... at 6 am the headache returned I was like WTF... i had a minor sore throat, nothing that alarmed me. I popped more pills.
Well I woke up normal time went an ate food with friends, got back to my place and decided to take a flashlight to my throat and EWWWWWW... my tonsils were horrific, they obviously looked worst than they felt. I popped more pills every 6 hours.
I felt so bad b/c my friend had stayed over sunday night and clearly i was sick but I didnt know =[ i hope he doesnt get sick on my account. BUT yeah I went to sleep, well took a nap sunday and woke up around 1am and I had chills... i was thinking in my head NOOOOOOOOOOO... that confirmed i had some microbial infestation popping off in my sys. my throat was aching now... I felt like crap.
My friend came back over and looked out for me.... isnt that like soooo nice. It's so hard for me to be around someone that i know is sick with something other than a cough, runny nose and sneeze. But he didnt seem to mind.

I went to the Doctor tue. morn and the did a rapid strep test, that came back negative... so i'm waiting for the results of the culture. I havent started the antibiotics yet... I'm bias on the issue... i guess b/c i'm a microbe major and I want to avoid antibiotic resistance in microorganisms at all cost hahahaha

I was also perscribed some Vicodin. I really doubt that a sore throat calls for Vicodin... but OK... im trying to make a profit off them things hahaha w/o going to jail

Spring Break!- Dilemma

I'm not going anything.

Matter of fact, I'm not going home until Monday, even thought I have no classes today (friday).

I'm at my front desk job (3a-7a).
Then at 1pm- 3pm go to my Med School job.
Then 10p-12a back to my front desk job.

Yes I need money and I want money.
I work Sunday, that's why I'm not going home until Monday.

Sooooo... to the problem at hand.
There is this Medical Summer Enrichment program I was applying to, but then stopped applying b/c... i dont remember. Well, I got an email today stating that I look like a strong candidate and that they are extending the deadline until next week. I was like OMG i sooooo gotta do this.
But then, I need 2 recommendation.... TWO!... it is spring break, my advisors and teachers are sooooo not in the office... SAD...what to do what to do?

New Tattoo -- & the Meaning Behind It

So on Tuesday (2.17.09) I got a new tattoo. Reactions to it has been, 'oh its really cute'... 'oh its pretty', 'omg that looks painful', and even 'oh it's sexy'. Regardless, I did not get it for any of those reasons. I like for my friends (especially) and anyone who will listen to know what's the deal with me, ya know...sooooooo...

I've wrote about this before but it never gets old.... I don't know my father, he's alive, stays in Charlotte, NC, where I lived until I came to school. At times it gets to me, because it feels like... like... i'm not good enough, or I'm not cool enough to be claimed as a daughter. To say I don't care would be a total lie. I've always cared. Once I started grade school I realized, HEY I'm not daddy's little girl. I think I was spoiled by my Mother, and Grandparents to compensate, but maybe not.

All wasn't lost. I wasn't raised without a male figure to offer guidance. My Grandpa was there, I often remember stuff he told me when I really young, and it makes so much sense now lol I would be sitting in the chair across from him and he would say 'We need to have a talk'... mind you I was like 8 lol My reaction to the conversation would be... "OOOOOKKKKK Papa....????'

There was also my Uncle...My uncle was that 'father' figure seriously. I remember being punished by him, I remember every time he came over to my house, I had to clean my room up, I remember getting help on homework after school, I remember going to basketball games, I remember him watching football after church, every Sunday...I don't so much do the church thing anymore BUT I will watch a game every Sunday.

He died when I was 15. Feb. 17th, 2004. That was such a low blow, since it was unexpected. Like no way did I ever imagine that he would be gone, he was young. I'm still fairly angry at the ordeal, I'm just not sure how to cope. I am a firm believer of what ever happens, happens for a reason... but I just can't use that to justify his death.

I feel that I needed him, and still do... because I'm not ready for life... I feel inadequately prepared to deal with bullshit... basically. I took on a major 'I don't care' attitude about life after he died. I don't want to be attached to anyone or anything because I'm afraid that they will leave. I want to get over this really bad, but I guess it takes much longer than 5 yrs. I'll find a way to open back up.

The Tattoo. I decided to get a rose on my torso on the 5th anniversary of his death. I didn't get any 'R.I.P' or 'In Loving Memories...' because I like to keep ish simple. And getting the tattoo on the day that he died was enough for moi. I really love my tattoo. It hurt like heck BUT it's OK. My ma might not agree since its kinda large for her liking but.... she will be ok =]

I guess since its a 13 yr-old BOY its a big deal. I've see 13 yr old girls on Maury all the time.

I was watching Phil DeFranco again and he was like he wasnt even thinking about sex @ 13 yrs old. I would say he is 5+- some years older than me.

13 yrs old is like 8th grade for moi, and from what I remember, I was not ignorant to the whole deal.

I clearly remember discussing at the lunch table in the 5th grade, with the girls, at what age did we plan to lose our virginity. Maybe that's odd...idk. In the school sys. I came from all 5th grade students took a class called FLEBHS (Family Living, Ethical Behavior, Human Sexuality), thats what sparked the convo at lunch that day.

Anywho, what I am saying is...@ 13.... almost 8 yrs ago for me, sex wasnt like taboo.... people where doing it lol Usually the guy was older "in high school" or something.

In retrospect, its dumb. I didnt participate lol but, like the chicks that did were on some kinda pedestal.

So, I think each generation is progressively living past their age. I have a cousin who is in the 8th grade now, her mother is like 8 yrs older than me, according to her myspace page, some shit be going down yo lol It's like a effin' soap opera. It amazes me, I didnt know having a bf was that serious.

So, I drove 3hrs home to Charlotte so I wouldnt have to wake up to balloons and shit Sat. morn haha I return to campus around 3pm, and I missed the bulk of surprises...

There is no boo, so me my bestie and her single friend had dinner together. It was fun, we were laughing a couples the entire night b/c Chili's is not Valentines Day dinner worthy nah mean. Then we paused and thought about it.... maybe that's why we're single... then reconsidered NAHHHH we will keep our high ass standards b/c someone out there meets them =] But those mofo was dressed the hell up going to Chili's. If my man ever in his life thought he was doing something by taking me out the Chili's, I would automatically think..."Oh we're just friends now" lol You go to Chili's w/ friends or when you don't feel like cooking, NOT as a VDay date. It might be 1st date worthy, but that is sketch.

We split a appetizer... bad idea lol B/c we didnt eat the food we order, I was stuffed before it got there. I got a carry-out box, but I suck at warming up left-overs, well I just don't want to (spoiled as a kid clearly). My friend was in the same city and I know his hungry ass would appreciate my food lol and he did. Damn near had a whole cheesesteak and fries lol

After that I came home... My bestie Away message was like "Vday's almost over, wish it would end with a bang" I soooooo agreed, I didnt want to sleep alone... I lucked out.... it ended with a bang lol

Typical for me @ minimum... is weekly (right now... during good times lol). However I desire more...

Monthly just seems like a awful long time in between events. My mood changes nearing a weeks time. It's like OMG i havent had any in 5 days... this is unacceptable.

Like I said once a week is acceptable but not optimal for me. Daily might be over doing it, depending on the rigor of the events lol Don't try to fight my ish daily... nope been there... done that... never again.

As I was discussing with some of my guy friends... they stated that they would love to find a girl like me. I didnt think I was that atypical b/c I swear my bestie is the same way... and we are a perfect sample population of the general female pool lol jk

Worst Hangover Ever

OMG so I spent m entire Saturday in bed... no jokes. I got up to use the bathroom maybe 3 times during the day but I was in bed the whole time.
I felt like crap. And I only had ONE drink... strong drink but it was still only one. I had maybe 4 puffs of a black that was being rotated, that could have caused the sickness. Because I know I have had a drink that strong before and never threw up.
I have awesome friends man. They call/ text me the entire day to see how I am doing. My girlie brought some Sprite and saltine crackers. Even though I had difficulty eating and drinking that, it made me so nauseous. Around 10pm I felt like I could eat some real food so my dude bought me some McD's by.
My leg joints were hurting. I thought it was b/c I worked out BUT now they are not hurting at all. It almost felt like a 24 hour case of the flu.
I hate to take medicine. I mean, I'll take sleeping pills, and vitamins in a second. But medicine to treat symptoms, not so much. I finally broke down a took some buprofen at like 11pm. 17 hours after the onset of the hangover.
WHOOO!!! I'm so happy I am feeling better this Sunday morn.

SOOOOOOO.... I'm taking physical chem this semester, and it is kicking my behind. I'm not understanding a single thing.... and I refuse to get anything less than a B+ in a Chem class. I've BS'd the 1st 2 homework assignments. The 1st exam is next week, so I'm study for it and if I like get a C or below, I will drop the class and plan on taking it in the summer so I can focus on it by itself. The 1st section was Thermodynamics which never really floats well with me, in general chem and quantitative chem. He started to cover Equilibria, I think i feel more comfortable with that topic. Changes in Enthalpy, Energy, Entropy ,Free Energy, heat and work... is NOT the business.

In other news.... I think my nipples are broken lol b/c they are like permanently visible. I should look that up to see if thats a side effect of nipple piercings. Maybe if they were normal size it wouldn't be so obvious lol
